Almedalsveckan is a political event organized annually in Visby, Gotland. The parliamentary parties of Sweden are jointly the main organizers of the week. With speeches, seminars and other political activities, it is considered an important forum in Swedish politics.
Baltic Compass joined Sida's Miljö och jordbruk -temadagen (Environment and agriculture) on Monday 4th July, in Sida's Östersjötält. Baltic Compass gave a presentation under the section "Should we produce food in the Baltic Sea region?".
On Thursday 7th of July Baltic Compass and SLU organized a seminar "Österjön och Jordbruket i ett globalt perspektiv" (The global perspective for agriculture in the Baltic Sea Region). The seminar took place in m/s Sigyn, at Visby harbor. The event was a success with over 70 participants and a lively discussion about the global perspective food production and sustainable agriculture.
