A Greener Agriculture for a Bluer Baltic Sea conference held in Copenhagen on October 24th and 25th was a great success. Organised by Baltic Compass, Baltic Deal and Baltic Manure along with WWF the conference managed to draw together 250 participants across the Baltic Sea region.

Spanning across two days, the conference included a plenary session as well as several parallel sessions focusing on more specified topics. If you were unable to attend the conference, all the presentations are now online on our website and you can browse through any that might be of interest to you.
The conference aims to bridge together different sectors and actors from farmers to decision-makers, hopefully leading to concrete actions for the benefit of the Baltic Sea. Part of the effectiveness of this kind of cooperation was visible in the fact that the EU’s Strategy for the Baltic Sea priorities on Nutrients and Agriculture met immediately after the conference in Copenhagen. HELCOM’s Agri-Fnvironmental Forum also met the following day, highlighting the close cooperation.
Many participants welcomed the event’s function as a networking platform for agri-environmental actors in the region. This was the fourth time the conference was organised and more is yet to come as a future conference is planned for 2013.
Our photographers managed to capture some of the highlights of the conference so be sure to check out the photos on our facebook page to see for yourself how did it all pan out.
