Tasks:
- Daily and periodic coordination, management, administration and reporting.
- Facilitating intra-project communication.
- Supporting the project partners in administrative issues.
- Arranging functions of Advisory Board, Project Management Group and overall partnership meetings.
- Outlining project level goals and success criteria.
- Providing tools and means for inter-WP coordination and synergies to meet overall goals.
- Seeking links and cooperation with related projects and with global processes and developments, such as the EU Strategy for the Baltic Sea Region.
- Complementing project partnership with external cooperation arrangements.
- Mid-term evaluation and follow-up.
- Sound crisis management.

The Lead Partner will implement the project and maintain effective coordination of the activities and main stakeholder interactions to ensure that the project will meet its objectives. This encompasses full obedience to Program regulations and Lead Partner responsibilities as defined in the Program Manual.
On the strategic level, Baltic COMPASS aims at being of high value for the whole Baltic Sea Region and be sustained in the national and regional decision-making structures. The project has established initial cooperation and dialogue with the lead countries of Priority Areas 1 (nutrient loss reduction) and 9 (sustainable agriculture and rural areas) of the EU Strategy for the Baltic Sea Region. The project will also cooperation with regional partners contributing to the BONUS+ Programme in shaping further research in the fields of agriculture, food, rural economy and environment.
On the operational level, the project will obey the Lead Partner principle and assume a top-down approach in
administration and financial management. That withstanding, sound financial management, legal obedience and good governance is expected from all partners. As a strategic project, the Project will establish close relationship with BSR Program JTS and the Managing Authority to ensure that its full strategic potential is deployed in coordination with the Programme.
